Meet Dr. Michele Kaplan

Dr. Kaplan was born and raised in New York. She earned her Bachelor of Arts at Boston University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She went on to receive her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, where she graduated top of her class with numerous honors and distinctions. She is a third-generation dentist, following the footsteps of her grandfather and father.

She received a Master of Science by completing an extensive three-year residency program at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, Division of Orthodontics. In residency, she had broad exposure to all case types including treating medically complex and special needs patients, as well as patients of all ages.

Dr. Kaplan loves her profession because she is passionate about helping people smile and bringing joy to the patients she treats. She loves that her work helps others gain confidence and improve their speech and bite. She believes orthodontics is an art form and customizes treatment for each individual.

Her research in orthodontic tooth movement was recognized by the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) in 2021, and she received the Thomas M. Graber Award. Recently, Dr. Kaplan’s research was published in the Progress in Orthodontics Journal.

Dr. Kaplan is married. She loves traveling, running, painting, and spending time with family and friends. She looks forward to meeting you and helping you achieve a beautiful smile and overall a more balanced bite.
